Smitty's Better-Burger: Newport News' Best Burger Spot

I recently dined here and was thoroughly impressed! The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. The service was lightning-fast, and my meal arrived hot and fresh. The friendly and attentive staff provided excellent suggestions, enhancing the overall experience. If you love burgers, this place is a must-visit and I can't wait to return!

I been going here since I was a kid. It's not one time that I have come to Virginia and I don't make it my business to stop here. The best burgers hands down.

I always wondered what the hype was about this place so boyfriend and I decided to check it out for lunch. You pull up and a waitress takes your order from your car. The prices are great and the quality of the food is amazing. I had the cheesesteak sub and he had the better burger. We then shared a chili cheese tater tots. Those were yummy! Somehow they managed to cook them perfectly crisp and they didn’t get soggy from the chili and cheese. We will definitely go back. The atmosphere is retro and welcoming. Now I understand what the hype is about. And a shout out to Cindy Lou!! She was an absolutely great server!

Fast service! Great walk up service. Just park and they will come to you. Put hazards on when ready to order. Fresh hot burgers with great taste. Great price for large burgers. Would recommend. Best spot in Hampton for a great Hood Burger. Thank you!

Stopped by while on a work trip and couldn’t believe the prices, was greeted by a worker I don’t remember her name but she was super sweet and helped navigate the menu. I ordered the better burger and I wasn’t expecting much but the size and quality of the burger was amazing. It was massive and the flavor was great

Can always count on the consistency of this locals' favorite. The Better Burger lunch combo is a favorite. The onion rings always hit the spot. Everyone says try the Fried Chicken, and you won't be disappointed, though I have yet to. We always enjoy on a nice day to have the windows down and eat homemade food in an outdoor family atmosphere. I only wish I could count on the delicious Apple Sticks dessert, but it seems to always be absent from the menu these days. Update: The flounder sandwich with homemade tartar sauce was good. It wasn't served hot, which was a shame. As a matter of fact, none of our food was served hot tonight. It was a disappointment. I was craving a burger, so we decided on a Smittys Super Burger. The burger was a tad dry, and as I said, it was not hot. Hence, the dry burger, I guess.

Always good, hot, and fresh food with fast and excellent customer service! I love a pull-up-and-park type of restaurant; it reminds me of old-school drive-up movie theaters.

This place is a wonderful food jewel you don't want to miss! 1st service fast friendly and outstanding! 2nd, my meal was freshly cooked to perfection. I had a 4 piece white meat chicken dinner with coleslaw, crinkle fries, and a dinner roll. I also had a flounder sandwich, a Superburger w cheese, and a side of chili cheese fries. And lastly, the price was very reasonable. Bring your family and come with friends you won't be disappointed!
